Refund Policy

This policy explains when you can get a refund for a paid Briefworth plan. Briefworth is operated by ZKN Consulting LLC, an Iowa, USA limited liability company. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Our paid plans are Pro ($19 per month) and Agency ($49 per month), billed monthly in US dollars through Stripe. The Free plan never charges you, so there’s nothing to refund.

14-day refund on your first payment

If you subscribe to Pro or Agency and decide Briefworth isn’t right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we’ll refund that payment in full. You don’t need to give a reason.

• This applies to the first payment on your account, once per customer.
• When we refund your first payment, we cancel the subscription and your account moves to the Free plan.

Renewals

Paid plans renew automatically every month until you cancel. Renewal payments aren’t refundable, including for months when you didn’t use Briefworth. To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date. We email a receipt for every payment.

Cancelling

You can cancel anytime from your account settings, or by emailing hello@briefworth.com from the email address on your account. When you cancel:

• you won’t be charged again;
• you keep your paid plan until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for;
• after that, your account moves to the Free plan.

We don’t give partial refunds for the unused part of a billing period, except for billing errors and the cases described in If we end the service.

Billing errors

If we charge you by mistake, we’ll refund the incorrect amount in full. Billing errors include:

• being charged twice for the same period;
• being charged after you cancelled;
• being charged the wrong amount for your plan.

Email us with the date and amount of the charge, and we’ll fix it.

If we end the service

If we shut down Briefworth, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund any amount you’ve prepaid for time after the shutdown date. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of our Terms of Service, we’ll refund any amount you’ve prepaid for the rest of your billing period.

How refunds are paid

• We issue every refund through Stripe, our payment processor, to the payment method you used to pay. We can’t send refunds to a different card or account.
• Refunds usually appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
• We charge and refund in US dollars. If your bank converted the original charge into another currency, the amount you see may differ slightly because of exchange rates or bank fees, which we don’t control.

How to ask for a refund

Email hello@briefworth.com from the email address on your account, with “Refund request” in the subject line and the date of the charge. We usually reply within two business days.

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We can usually sort it out faster, and a dispute can delay your refund.

Your legal rights

This policy doesn’t limit any rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.
